![]() As if that wasn't enough, there are also buffet hot plate sides available, and soup, rice, etc.Cons: no alcohol is served. Each meal is custom selected and then cooked by their cheg on a neat round grill before bring handed back to each diner. Each individual diner can choose their own meats, noodles and veggies (or even no veggies), and the level of spiciness (or blandness). Hungry teens can go back through the serving line as much as they want. My two favorite things about this place are: 1. I ate with my wife +2 kids at the restaurant and it was happy with the service, the experience, and the food. It fills a niche and makes for a nice alternative to the standard fare for those who want different for its own sake, but there are much better options out there if you are willing to make even a slight amount of effort.Hadn't visited for about 20 years, and was pleased to discover that it is still alive and kicking. Say what you want about McDonald’s now, but they did very great things once and had an impact that can not be denied. In a sense, Great Khan’s is like the McDonald’s of Mongolian barbecue, but it would probably be more accurate to say that it wishes it could be. About the only positive thing I can say is that the food is good. Sure, I recognize it for the marketing ploy that it is, but neither the food nor the service is good enough to back it up. Another problem I have with Great Khan’s is admittedly a quibble that only I would have: their website tries to claim that the whole concept of Mongolian barbecue, or at least the «you create it, we grill it» style that most of us know, was coined and innovated by them. Bring a knowledgeable friend, or go to some place with clearer instructions and/or a higher level of service instead. Even with the video monitors explaining how Mongolian barbecue works, I would not recommend this place for someone new to Mongolian barbecue. It was not busy enough to use stress or irritation from high traffic as a justification, but I definitely feel that those reviewers were likely closer to the point than not. While I can not make any concrete statement to the effect, the vibe that I got was not overly friendly. Other reviewers have mentioned that the level of service and hospitality leaves something to be desired, and I ultimately must concur with that statement. ![]() While my own tastes are pretty simple - I pretty much stick with beef, lettuce, onions, noodles, soy sauce, and teriyaki - those who are looking for a better variety of options may want to look elsewhere. ![]() While I was not expecting the same quality from a food court spot as, say, El Camino Mongolian BBQ, the lack of ingredients and sauces on display when compared to El Camino was a bit disappointing. I decided to make some time for it one day while I was waiting to pick up some prescriptions. After a group of friends introduced me to the greatness of Mongolian barbecue some time ago, I remembered that this place existed and kept a mental note to visit it if I was ever in the area for something. I had never given this place a solid thought before, since it was in a food court that also had most of my normal standbys. Such a waste of money! My advice: head to the Great Khan’s in the Great MaLL. The teriyaki was simpLy sugar water… Gross. In attempts to fix the bLand-ness, I went back to request a smaLL container of teriyaki and my pLan totaLLy backfired. There was bareLy any fLavor because aLL the sauces were watered down. Fast Forward to after my food is cooked: NoodLes were mushy. What was up with that? The sauces avaiLabLe Looked super watery and it definiteLy tasted how it Looked. The meat seLection and the imitation crab was Lacking and the staff didn’t refiLL the bins when necessary. Today’s visit was the absoLute Last straw. PiLe your ingredients on high if you would like, whatever fits in the bowL is fair game! This is not my ideaL Location when I have my Great Khan cravings but I’ve stopped by this Location a few times out of mere convenience. ![]() You are able to customize your stir fry with whatever meats, vegetables, and sauces. For those of you who aren’t familiar with this place: You make your purchase at the register and are given an empty bowL.
